What's in a name?
VMPF - our old name - has been synonymous with quality medical education for almost 100 years. In that time, we've helped thousands upon thousands of graduates from around Australia and overseas acquire the skills and qualifications they were looking for.
But as the Victorian Medical Postgraduate Foundation (VMPF), our focus was always on the state of Victoria. Now, as we branch out nationwide, the ‘V' in our name is no longer relevant.
It's not just Victoria we've outgrown. Over the years, our reach has gone beyond medical or postgraduate education. Now, we deliver educational opportunities with a multidisciplinary focus to a range of professionals in the healthcare industry.
We remain a not-for-profit organisation and the move to Health Education Australia Limited (HEAL), we feel, is a logical one. It supports our much broader focus on the healthcare profession as a whole and better reflects our vision: improving healthcare through innovative education.

Increasingly in Australia, healthcare is being met by multidisciplinary teams who use a selection of appropriate technologies to manage the complex needs of patients. Our vision - improving healthcare through innovative education - mirrors that multi faceted approach.
At HEAL, we've adopted the sort of educational principles, structure and course content that reflect the needs of today. To ensure we continue to develop relevant, engaging programs and services that assist healthcare professionals, we work in collaboration with a number of key universities, government departments and other healthcare bodies. We also have accreditation with medical and nursing colleges that allows us to associate the name HEAL with quality training.
