Settlement Services Australia
SSI is a community organisation and social business that supports newcomers and
other Australians to achieve their full potential. We work with all people who have
experienced vulnerability, including refugees, people seeking asylum and culturally and
linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, to build capacity and enable them to
overcome inequality.
Settlement Services International (SSI) is delivering the government-funded Home Care
Workforce Support Program (HCWSP) in New South Wales and the ACT, helping
senior Australians enjoy a safe and independent life at home. Through this program,
SSI aims to grow, upskill, train and support an aged care workforce that delivers safe,
high-quality care that puts senior Australians first.
The program is free and open to anyone who wants to build a meaningful career
supporting our senior Australians. This includes:
- High school graduates and those new to the workforce
- Migrants and people from Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds
- First Nations people
- Mature age workers considering a career change or returning to work
- Qualified and experienced healthcare sector professionals
Australia’s leading care &
workers careers network and marketplace, announced today that it has formalised a key
partnership with Settlement Services Australia (SSI) who manages the Homecare
workforce program to attract new workers to the home care sector and help to place
them with approved Home care providers across NSW & ACT.
Newly’s core function is to attract Care and Support workers and match to place them
with jobs across Australia. Newly is well-positioned to serve as an advantageous
strategic partner for SSI, offering services to facilitate the attracting, registering,
screening, matching, and placement of candidates with providers throughout Australia
via the program. Leveraging the Newly’s existing 110,000 registered care workforce and
the advanced award winning technology platform and its exceptional candidate
management capabilities, the partnership aims to increase placement rates from pre-
boarding to on-boarding of candidates with approved providers.
This partnership will help home care providers to find the best-suited candidate as
efficiently as possible, and in turn, provide workers who want to enter the care sector or
already working in the sector with a broader pool of their most suitable job opportunities.
We hope that with better-matched, higher-quality employment, there will be greater
employee satisfaction, higher numbers of retention and more positive outcomes for the
elderly needing care.
