Business / Provider Profile
The Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists' Association (ADOHTA) is the peak body that represents Oral Health Professionals (OHPs), which include dental therapists, oral health therapists and dental hygienists. OHPs provide preventively focused dental services at the same quality as dentists, are tertiary educated and work towards increasing affordable access to dental care for disadvantaged populations.

Our mission is to be a progressive national representative body for Dental and Oral Health Therapists who provide leadership, collaboration and advocacy to enhance the profession and the oral health outcomes for the community.

The ADOHTA as a representative body promotes the internal development of the dental and oral health therapy profession by maintaining its goal "to achieve growth and development in dental and oral health therapy across Australia and the pursuit of excellence."

The ADOHTA Executive Council is made up of a representative from each state or territory, a representative of the Australian Dental Council and a representative from the Editorial Board of ANZJDOHT (Journal). The Executive Council meets face to face twice per year and participates in teleconferences on the months it does not meet.
