Introducing Lives Lived Well
Lives Lived Well is a not-for-profit organisation, working to help people impacted by drugs or alcohol as well as mental health concerns. We work with people to help get their lives back on track by delivering a wide range of programs and services across Queensland and New South Wales.
Queensland
Our Queensland services are delivered across more than 20 locations with outreach into many more communities. We specialise in community-based counselling and group programs for those impacted by drug and alcohol use and for their families. We also provide live-in rehabilitation on the Gold Coast, Logan, Caboolture and Mareeba. Our programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of the community including working with young people, children and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. We are the lead agency for headspace Southport and headspace Upper Coomera, mental health services for young people and run the Lives Lived Well Specialist Centre on the Gold Coast. We also run Lighthouse at Southport, a service for young people with severe and/or complex mental health. Another important aspect of our work is in supporting people to successfully re-enter the community upon release from custodial centres.
New South Wales
On 1 September 2017, Lives Lived Well merged with Lyndon in NSW, which provides live-in programs in Orange and community-based programs to much of the Central West, Blue Mountains and Bega region. Lives Lived Well's NSW services include live-in withdrawal and rehabilitation, education programs, one to one counselling and groups programs tailored to a range of demographics and community needs. You can read the extensive history behind our western New South Wales services in our Lives Lived Well New South Wales Historical Timeline.
On 1 October 2020, Lives Lived Well welcomed Watershed, a long-standing alcohol and other drug service provider in Wollongong NSW with an amicable union by way of a merger. With this strengthening of the services in NSW, Lives Lived Well now provides a withdrawal management program, residential rehabilitation, non-residential day program and long-term transitional program in the Wollongong region.
What we do
At Lives Lived Well we believe that with the right support, people can change their lives. We work with people to create insight to the causes and impact of their use of alcohol and drugs and to develop strategies to reduce harm, support recovery and inspire positive and lasting change. We also work with families and other community services to ensure ongoing support is put in place. Thousands of people reach out to us each year.
