ASORC ® is the peak professional body representing rehabilitation counsellors throughout Australasia. Established in 1976, ASORC ® is a non-party political, non-sectarian and not for profit organisation. See former ASORC President Michael Iacovino's YouTube video.

ASORC ® VISION

To advance the profession of rehabilitation counsellors.

ASORC ® MISSION

To represent, promote and lead the profession of rehabilitation counselling and to enhance the professional capability of members to deliver service excellence.

ASORC ® OBJECTIVES

(a) to advance the professional practice and scientific study of rehabilitation counselling;

(b) to encourage and promote innovation and evidence based best practice

(c) to increase public awareness and understanding of the role of rehabilitation counselling;

(d) to make grants of money, to lend money and to expend such sums of money as the Company thinks fit in the furtherance of the purposes of the Company;

(e) to establish, develop and maintain professional standards and ethical practices for rehabilitation counselling;

(f) to promote and encourage contact, communication, and support amongst rehabilitation counsellors who are its members;

(g) to influence organisations engaging rehabilitation counsellors in the interests of rehabilitation counsellors;

(h) to be an advocate for our members and to cooperate with other rehabilitation organisations;

(i) to promote improvements in the standard of rehabilitation counsellor services;

(j) to promote and encourage professional development of rehabilitation counsellors;

(k) to disseminate material relating to rehabilitation counselling;

(l) to encourage government bodies to legislate and act consistent with the Company's interests;

(m) the Company shall be a non-party political, non-sectarian and not for profit organisation.
