  • Describe vasovagal syncope and how it fits in the general classification of syncope

Vasovagal syncope (VVS)
Syncope is caused by episodes of transient global cerebral hypoperfusion leading to a variety of symptoms, usually culminating in a fall.

‘Syncope’ is derived from the Greek words ‘syn’ meaning with and ‘kopto’ meaning to cut or interrupt.
