- develop your understanding of what wound debridement is and when it should be offered as a therapeutic intervention
- discuss the benefits and potential complications of wound debridement
- develop your knowledge of the different types of wound debridement and how they work
- apply the essential principle of consent, maintain safety and consider your role in wound debridement within your scope of practice
- apply this knowledge to recognise when to use different methods
This session provides an introduction to wound debridement. It is not intended to enable clinical capability. Assessment in practice by someone with clinical capability is essential.
