Course Aim: The Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) Workshop is highly recommended for enrolled nurses, midwives, casual and bank staff and any clinical staff who have limited skills in the care and management of CVADs.

In this course, you will work towards the following outcomes:

  • CVAD line Identification
  • Pre and post care insertion care
  • Care and Maintenance
  • Safe administration of IV medication
  • Identification and the management of complications
  • CVAD removal

Completion Requirements: To complete this course, you will need to complete an elearning package, pass a quiz, attend a 4.5 hour face-to-face session, demonstrate skills in your normal work environment and upload the competency tool to Welearn.
