Instrument/Circulating Nursing
This unit of study provides students with opportunities to consolidate and expand their existing clinical knowledge, skills, and attitudes within the specialty of the instrument and circulating nurse in the context of perioperative nursing. Current research, policy and guidelines underpinning instrument/circulating nursing are analysed, and the role of the nurse is explored.

Discuss legal and ethical aspects of perioperative care in relation to the role of the instrument/circulating nurse
Theme 2: OR 2 -General surgery
Conceptualise principles of infection prevention & control, including surgical asepsis
Theme 3: OR 3 -Obstetrics and gynaecology
Critically reflect on the advanced knowledge and skills required to ensure a safe environment for people undergoing intraoperative procedures
Theme 4: OR 4 - Orthopaedics
Analyse systematic assessment processes in the intra-operative phase
Theme 5: OR 5 - Paediatrics, ENT, Head and neck surgery
Evaluate evidence-based holistic nursing care of people undergoing intraoperative procedures across the lifespan
