Learning Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • State the extent of the problems that occur in primary care in relation to patient safety
  • Describe how the complexity of primary care can impact on patient safety
  • List the potential barriers to improving patient safety in primary care
  • Start thinking about how to develop a programme to improve patient safety in your own practice

Take a few moments to consider the areas that are prone to errors in primary care and how relatively simple errors can have serious consequences.
