Primary Care Management course for GPs

This session introduces the Primary Care Management domain of the RCGP curriculum. It uses a patient scenario to highlight how the domain applies to problems as they present in primary care. This session was reviewed by Suchita Shah and last updated in October 2014.

By the end of this session you will be able to:

• Describe the characteristic themes of primary care management as outlined in Domain 1 of ‘Being a GP’
• Understand how unselected problems present in a primary contact with a patient
• Describe the issues around providing appropriate care and healthcare services to meet patient need
• Give practical examples of how to act as an advocate for a patient
