This session will help you to identify the ways in which effective communication through record keeping will positively influence the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Outline the principles of effective communication
  • Describe ways to maintain a high standard of record keeping and documentation in practice
  • Describe the ways in which communication and record keeping influences the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme

The Healthy Child Programme is a preventive health programme for children and families. The programme emphasises the importance of working in a way which focuses on partnership and facilitation, adopting an informal approach that allows dynamic engagement in which practitioners must challenge, ask questions and raise issues - both of which is sometimes difficult to do.
