Ways of Supporting Pain Self-management Strategies course



This session describes Pain Management Programmes and how modified pain management interventions can be used effectively as an early intervention.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Summarize three levels of self-management intervention
- Balance the benefits of early self-management intervention against risk of overtreatment
- Explain how individual and group rehabilitation programmes help pain sufferers with complex problems
- State the healthcare outcomes achievable
- List the ways in which self-management enables return to work
Chronic pain is a common and complex sensory, emotional, cognitive and behavioural long-term health condition that occurs when pain cannot be resolved by available medical or other treatment.
