Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) in Children course for GPs
This session provides an overview of the assessment and management of children with urinary tract infection (UTI).

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Recall the epidemiology of UTI in children
- List the aetiology and risk factors of UTI in children
- Apply a patient-centred approach to UTI in children presenting to primary care
- Assess a child with suspected UTI including urinalysis
- Consider age and illness severity in relation to management, referral and imaging
This session covers the aetiology, investigation and management of UTI in children. It aims to provide a logical approach to the diagnosis and effective management of childhood UTI in the primary care setting. It is based on the recommendations in the NICE Guideline for UTI in children.
