Teaching Groups and Workshops course for GPs
This session will help you to refine your presentation skills, enhance your confidence, develop audience interest and increase audience involvement when you are speaking to a group of people.
This session was reviewed by Khyati Bakhai and last updated in November 2018.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Prepare an effective presentation
- Identify content that will attract an audience
- Prepare a presentation that will be fit for purpose
- Create audience involvement
- Identify areas for improvement for voice and posture
You may have your own natural way of presenting to audiences that you learned in medical school. However, as audiences become more sophisticated, these skills need to be refined. The goal is to ensure that the message you want to convey is received and integrated in the minds of your audience. That is best achieved if you start from what the audience is familiar with.
