Young carers are children and young people (up to 18 years old) whose lives are affected by looking after someone with a disability, a long-term illness, or who misuses alcohol or drugs. This session explains the problems that young carers face, and suggests ways to identify and support young carers in primary care. This session was reviewed by Chantal Simon and last updated on 06/06/13.
