You will be challenged to explore the complexities of promoting health when there is a dependency on behaviour that is injurious to health. The session will present knowledge regarding substance misuse and will challenge you by using a problem-solving interactive approach to manage pre-set scenarios.
Learning objectives

Nicola has been a nurse for 19 years and a midwife for 17 years; in this time she has enjoyed practising in diverse areas from inner city hospitals to the Australian Outback.
Her main area of interest is working with women from marginalised groups and creating access to health care for vulnerable women. In the last 7 years, her current position as Substance Misuse Specialist Midwife has allowed her to combine many of her skills and passions into one role while establishing and delivering a specialist service in Hackney, east London. She happily continues to expand and develop the service to meet the needs of local women.
