Infection Prevention and Control Level 2
This e-learning session meets the statutory and mandatory training requirements and learning outcomes for Infection Prevention and Control Level 2 in the UK Core Skills Training Framework (UK CSTF).

Your health and safety and that of others is very important. During this pandemic you must take care of yourself and stay at home if you exhibit any symptoms of the Coronavirus or if those you live with are unwell. you must stay at home if you are an individual who is ‘shielded’.
If you are working in a health and care environment and if you are well, you can attend your work but must follow the guidance given to you by your organisation.
Learning Objectives
- Describe your own responsibilities and those of your healthcare organisation in terms of current infection prevention and control legislation
- Explain how to obtain information about infection prevention and control within your organisation
- Explain different organisms and conditions that pose an infection risk
- Describe how to safely manage patients with specific infections
- Describe the importance of hand hygiene
- List the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) that should be used when performing clinical procedures
- Explain how to use single-use items appropriately
- Describe how to clean up different types of fluids and spillages and how to dispose of waste safely
