Sports Medicine in Primary Care course for GPs
This session discusses overtraining syndrome and how a patient can minimise the risk of injury. It will also cover the principles of sports nutrition and hydration and when to utilise sports medicine services.

- Describe the role of physiotherapy in preventing and treating sports injuries
In the United Kingdom, people have become less physically active resulting in an explosion of diseases associated with physical inactivity.
Having completed Foundation Training George completed the Nottingham Sports Medicine Course before starting GP training. This has lead to opportunities with a variety of sports from Beach Volleyball, Rugby League, Endurance Racing, Rugby Union and Football.
George is now a Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant Physician at University College London Hospitals.
