This session defines self-harm, considers some of the myths surrounding people who self-harm and discusses how to respond when someone presents with self-harm, including treatment options.

  • Identify the myths about self-harm, including issues such as suicidality and personality disorder
  • Demonstrate an ability to respond effectively to self-harm
  • Describe your role in managing self-harm within the consultation

She has no special expertise in end of life care, but has been delighted to work with Professor Gordon in publicising the ’My Living Will’ website to help patients plan for a time when they may lack capacity.
