RSV Clinical Newsletters
An evidence-based clinical newsletter series on RSV in older adults covering epidemiology, common symptoms, identifying high-risk individuals living with specific chronic medical conditions, recommendations when and to whom to vaccinate, and co-administration opportunities to help reduce vaccine fatigue and increase RSV vaccination rates.

2. RSV vaccination in older adults: a new era in prevention
Learning outcomes

• Review common symptoms of RSV and how these are disguisable from other common respiratory infections
• Determine the best timing for vaccination against RSV
• Identify high-risk adults that would benefit from RSV vaccination aligned with ATAGI recommendations, such as chronic medical conditions, and as outlined in the Australian Immunisation Handbook (AIH)
• Detail two older adult patient cases where RSV vaccination would be recommended
• Review RSV vaccine co-administration opportunities with influenza and COVID-19 vaccines that would help to reduce vaccine fatigue and increase RSV vaccination rates
