Research Skills course for Dental Practice



This session explains the general principles of clinical research.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Describe the nature of research
- List the processes involved in performing a research project and disseminating its results
The initial idea for a research question invariably needs refining before it is developed into the final version. Broadly there are two types of clinical research questions:
- Background questions
- Foreground questions

Professor Kenneth Eaton PhD, MSc, BDS, FFGDP(UK), MGDS RCS (Eng), LDS RCS (Eng), FFPH, FHEA, FICD, DHC has worked in all areas of dentistry. He is listed by the GDC as a specialist in Periodontics and Dental Public Health. He is a Visiting Professor at the University College London, Eastman, King’s College London Dental Institutes and the University of Leeds and is an Honorary Professor at the University of Kent.
