Welcome to the third of three sessions in the Alcohol Identification and Brief Advice e-learning module.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Recognise patients may react in different ways when you undertake IBA with them
  • Recall the benefits of reducing alcohol intake and how IBA can assist with this
  • Deliver brief advice that is appropriate to the patient

This session aims to examine the relationship between the staff member and the individual undergoing IBA and provide some practical guidelines to use during brief advice.
