Consultant Community Paediatrician with a special interest in Paediatric Palliative Care

Cheryl is a Consultant Community Paediatrician with a special interest in Paediatric Palliative Care. She is palliative lead for Coventry and Warwickshire, providing in-reach to hospitals and working with the community children’s nursing service to provide a holistic service including end of life care at home. Cheryl is the Consultant paediatrician for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry and works alongside two GP colleagues to support respite and end of life care within the hospice. She chairs the Coventry and Warwickshire supportive care forum and the Coventry and Warwickshire Paediatric Palliative Care Multi-agency Strategic Network, and provides medical input to the continuing care process for Coventry and Warwickshire.

Her interest in complex and chronic illness developed early in her medical training and evolved throughout her junior years. It was during her community paediatric placements that she found her passion of providing community palliative care. Whilst undertaking the Cardiff Master Course in Palliative Medicine she transferred from Wessex to West Midlands and completed her SPIN module in Paediatric Palliative Medicine under the guidance of Dr Angela Thompson. Cheryl is married and juggles her work with twin 10 year old boys and a rescue greyhound!
