Pelvic Pain - Male and Female course
This session describes the nature of male and female pelvic pain, the clinical model for its assessment and treatment and also presents a series of cases of patients with pelvic pain.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Describe the impact of chronic pelvic pain
- Explain how to take a history and examine a patient with chronic pelvic pain
- List the common treatment modalities in chronic pelvic pain
- Describe how some typical cases of common pelvic pain are managed
There may also be a considerable overlap between different pelvic pain conditions, and most pelvic pain conditions involve a disturbance of urinary, bowel and sexual function.
Therefore, it is important for healthcare professionals to have a knowledge of how chronic pelvic pain affects men and women, and the treatment options that are available.
