Neurovascular Assessment
Neurovascular assessment determines the integrity and function of nerves and blood vessels in the affected limb.
Routine neurovascular assessment is important for patients with orthopaedic conditions and following orthopaedic surgery because it enables early detection of neurovascular deficit, nerve injury and compartment syndrome (Irwin, 2009; cited in Blair and Clarke, 2013).
