This session is designed to give healthcare professionals an overall understanding of the different ways the genome can be investigated.

Learning objectives

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • summarise the range of genomic tests available;
  • outline the types of results that patients may receive; and
  • explain how the clinical question can help determine the appropriate genomic test for the patient.

The session will introduce the range of tests that can be used to investigate the genome in healthcare and provide some case studies to demonstrate their use.
