This course will provide key information that will support your practice when offering a genomic test to your patients and their families.
Learning objectives
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- understand and explain where to get information about requesting a genomic test;
- understand how to introduce genomic testing and apply this in practice, and assess a patient's expectations;
- address additional considerations for consent in genomics, including those that may be required in specific patient contexts; and
- locate and apply national guidelines and regulations that are relevant for consent for genomic testing.
The main purpose of this course is to help you understand key information to consider when offering a genomic test to patients and their family members.
