This course will provide key information that will support your practice when offering a genomic test to your patients and their families.

Learning objectives

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • understand and explain where to get information about requesting a genomic test;
  • understand how to introduce genomic testing and apply this in practice, and assess a patient's expectations;
  • address additional considerations for consent in genomics, including those that may be required in specific patient contexts; and
  • locate and apply national guidelines and regulations that are relevant for consent for genomic testing.
