Introduction to Coaching
As in nursing, ethical practice in professional coaching is an essential element of coaching practice. Coaching, however, is an unregulated profession and as a result, there are a number of organisations that coaches can belong globally, that have their own codes of ethics and required competencies. For the purpose of this module, although we will be referring to the International Coaching Federation’s coaching competencies throughout, we do not need to adopt their code of ethics because the following codes and standards that guide our nursing practice also apply to coaching conducted in the health context.
