How do Adults Learn? course for Dental Practice



This session is the first of three sessions which aims to describe the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours needed to undertake a teaching role.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Discuss the core concepts that affect adult learning
- Describe the different learning approaches
- Outline theories on individual learning styles
Learning is a continuous process where new ‘learning situations’ contribute to the forming and re-forming of our knowledge.
Dr Asif Bachlani trained at Barts and the Royal London. Currently a StR 5 in General Adult Psychiatry with a special interest in education. Dr Bachlani is involved in Undergraduate and Post-graduate medical education, both in development and lecturing, as well as being a Wessex Deanery Medical Education Fellow. In addition he is currently doing a Masters in Medical Education at University of Winchester.
