Do you want to better understand value-based health care (VBHC) and your role within the Australian health system in transition to VBHC?

This interactive three-workshop series (each two hours long) presented by the Australian Centre for Value-Based Health Care supports multidisciplinary teams (including consumers) to come together to learn and explore their area of work through a value-based system lens.

Combining theory and evidence with practical real world VBHC implementation case studies, this workshop series will provide you with an understanding of the fundamentals of VBHC and how it is being operationalised in the Australian policy environment.

At completion of the course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the organisation of the Australian health system and your role within it.
  • Identify how different elements of the healthcare system (funding, governance, data, technology) impact a person’s journey through the system.
  • Understand the evolution, theory and evidence underpinning value-based health care.
  • Identify and explain the key features of value- based health care (outcomes, resource allocation, data, strategic partnerships, cultural change).
  • Understand the Australian policy landscape and the barriers and enablers supporting VBHC implementation.
  • Discuss value-based health care case studies.
