This course explains what proteins are, how they are synthesised and how changes in our DNA can affect this process.
Learning objectives
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- describe what a protein is and list some examples;
- provide an overview of protein synthesis, including transcription and translation; and
- summarise what impact changes to the genome can have on protein production and the potential implications for health.
The session will also cover how variation in the genome can affect protein synthesis and the implications for health.
