Learning Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Describe the prevalence and incidence of tooth surface loss, nationally and internationally
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the methods and the limitations of clinically assessing tooth surface loss
  • Select an index to determine presence and progression of tooth surface loss, appropriate to the needs of your patients

This session will consider the current presentations of tooth surface loss (TSL).

An important point to consider when discussing TSL is, are we talking about erosion, attrition, abrasion - or a combination?
