Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Describe the impact of chronic pain on quality of life and socio-economic status
  • Explain how the burden of pain affects society as a whole
  • Identify risk factors for the development of chronic pain

The impact of pain on the individual, the healthcare system, the economy and society means that pain is a huge burden and the importance of managing this condition successfully cannot be underestimated.
