By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Describe the epidemiology and pathophysiology of childhood diabetes
  • Describe the psychosocial impact of diabetes on the child, family and school
  • Outline principles of good day-to-day and emergency management of diabetes enabling full participation in school
  • Discuss how the child, their family and the child's diabetes team can work with the school to manage more difficult diabetes
