Determining Prognosis course for Dental Practice
Patients and clinicians are concerned about disease, outcomes of treatment of the disease and then the likely future course of events. This approach to patient care relies on the clinicians’ assessment of prognosis and this session guides you through how you could do this for periodontal disease.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Define prognosis

Before commencing this session you should have knowledge of:
- Natural history and classification of periodontal diseases
- Periodontal examination
- Diagnosis and aetiopathology of periodontal diseases
- Risk factors associated with periodontal diseases
