Deadly Mental Health Skills Training
Carbal have developed this Level 1 Mental Health Skills Training package with the aim of educating General Practitioners and Health Professionals on providing culturally appropriate mental health care to First Nation patients and clients.
This package is accredited as a primary pathway and has a focus of substance misuse.
Deadly MHST is now available via Carbal’s online learning platform.
The training is RACGP, ACRRM and GPMHSC accredited for the 2023–2025 triennium for the following categories:
- Educational Activity: 5.5 hrs
- Reviewing Performance: 3 hrs
- Measuring Outcomes: 1 hour
Carbal’s Deadly MHST course is relevant to the entire primary health care workforce, including but not limited to:
- General Practitioners
- Allied Health Practitioners
- Nurses/ Nurse Practitioners
- Aboriginal Health Workers
Deadly MHST: Substance abuse is a 9.5 hour learning package.
The entire course is required to be completed within 3 months of enrolling.
Takeaway PackagesTo broaden the scope of delivery, Carbal are offering Peak Bodies, RTOs or Organisations to purchase the accredited MHST content.
As a takeaway package, you and your organisation will arrange facilitators and the event in your local area. Carbal will provide the administrative support and log the attendances through the colleges. This will enable participants to be awarded their CPD and relevant level 1 qualification.
