Learning objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • list the ways in which children are exceptional patients
  • explain child-friendly, age-specific techniques for consulting with children
  • discuss issues of consent and advocacy that relate to child patients

Consulting with children and their parents is often a complex negotiation, but with some tools and confidence it can appear as simple as child's play.
