Clinical Governance for Dental Practice
This session will describe clinical governance and consider how its various components assure delivery of high quality care. The session will encourage you to consider your role in clinical governance as a foundation doctor and throughout your future career.

Good clinical governance creates an environment in which clinical excellence will flourish and patients will receive high quality care with minimised risk. This is achieved by coordinating three interlinking high level strands of work.
Christina is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine and research lead at LOROS, Hospice care for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and University Hospitals of Leicester. She is Honorary Professor at University of Leicester. Christina was Clinical Lead for the e-ELCA programme between 2014 and 2017.
Christina trained at Newcastle Medical School. Having gained MRCP and an MD in psycho-neuro-endocrinology, she then specialised in palliative medicine and has been a consultant since 1994. She has been an Associate Postgraduate Dean and gained a particular interest in assessment. She has published two books on palliative care both of which were awarded the BMA book of the year. Her research includes end of life care of patients using respiratory support, meeting the needs of people from diverse ethnic communities and the support of family carers.
