Learning objectives

By the end of this session, learners will be able to:

  • 3.2.1 Explore an individual’s preference for contraception
  • 3.2.2 Conduct an effective consultation with an individual wishing to start or change her contraceptive method

Choosing a method of contraception can be difficult for an individual because there are several issues to consider, including side-effects and non-contraceptive benefits of the method, social and cultural issues, together with any future pregnancy plans.
