Instructors / Speakers
Sunaina Khanna,
Academic GP, Cardiff University

Dr Sunaina Khanna BSc MBBS MRCPCH MRCGP

Sunaina is an academic GP in Cardiff University. After medical school she carried out paediatric training in the Evelina Children’s Hospital, London obtaining her membership in paediatrics and child health. She then decided to change to GP training. On completion of training she became an academic fellow in the department of primary care, Cardiff University so that she could combine her interests in clinical practice and teaching.

Faye McCleery,
GP Retainer, Wishaw Health Centre, Logan Practice

Faye graduated from Glasgow University in 2003 and she is currently a GP retainer in the Logan Practice based in Wishaw Health Centre.

Faye particularly enjoyed her Paediatrics SHO post as well as the Paediatric element of General practice. As such she undertook a GP Fellowship in Paediatrics following completion of her GP training.

It was during this time that Faye developed an interest in childhood obesity. Together with Dr Ian Hunter, Paediataric Endocrinologist, she undertook a study looking at the identification of childhood obesity in primary care. They also developed a proforma for the investigation of childhood obesity in the local hospital. Faye continues to maintain an interest in this area in her daily practice, and she is the GP representative on the Lanarkshire Childhood Healthy Weight Initiative.

Faye is co-author of the e-GP session ’Childhood Obesity’.
