This session describes the various types of pain experienced by cancer patients and reviews the causes of these pain types, generally, and with reference to specific pathophysiological mechanisms.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Describe the prevalence of cancer pain and its subsets
- Recognize the many forms of cancer-related pain
- Describe the different types of pain that occur in patients with cancer
- Recognize the pathophysiological mechanisms contributing to pain types experienced by cancer patients
