This e-learning session meets the statutory and mandatory training requirements, compliance and learning outcomes for Data Security Awareness Level 1 within the UK Core Skills Training Framework (UK CSTF) and Data Security and Protection Toolkit, which your organisation needs to comply with each year.

It is essential that you keep up-to-date with developments in data security and protection to help you in your day-to-day job and it is important to complete the full session. However, If you feel you have the necessary knowledge, you can skip straight to the eAssessment without completing the knowledge chapters first.
This session has been developed for all staff working within the health and social care sector. It covers key learning, which is necessary to understand data security, good record keeping and the relevant laws that govern the use of information.
At the end of this session, you should have a good understanding of your individual as well as your organisation's responsibilities in the importance of protecting, or safely sharing, your own and others' data. Effectively practising what you learn will help you and your organisation to comply with data security and protection requirements, standards, your organisation's policies and most importantly with relevant law.
There are certain roles within the health and social care sector that will need to have a more detailed understanding of data security, for example those working in information governance (IG). Your organisation will be able to provide you with details of the further training people in those roles will need to undertake.
