Resuscitation Adult Level 2
This elearning session meets the statutory and mandatory training requirements and learning outcomes for Resuscitation Adult Level 2 in the UK Core Skills Training Framework (UK CSTF).

If you feel you have the necessary knowledge, you can skip straight to the eAssessment without completing the knowledge chapters first.
Learning Objectives
- Explain where to find local resuscitation policies and procedures and the current Resuscitation Council UK guidelines
- Explain how to carry out an ABCDE approach and recognise the deteriorating patient
- Explain what to do in an emergency situation, including what to do when someone is choking and how to get a person in the recovery position
- Carry out basic airway management for example, ensure an open airway
- Describe how to confirm cardiac arrest
- Explain how to initiate and maintain effective lung ventilations
- Describe how to start and maintain effective chest compressions
- Explain how to carry out cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a patient who has a tracheotomy
- Describe how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Describe your individual role and responsibilities in responding to persons in emergency situations
- Explain how to report and record details of an emergency event
- Explain the importance of undertaking any resuscitation interventions within the limits of your personal capabilities and the context of any previous training received
- Explain when to apply the local policy on ‘Do not attempt CPR'
