About the session
This session looks at identifying frailty and when to escalate and will provide a greater understanding of falls, continence, hydration and nutrition, diabetes, alcohol and substance misuse. 

At the end of this session you will be able to:

  • identify deterioration and when to escalate
  • understand the importance of frailty syndromes in more detail and how they impact the individual on more than one level
  • recognise the components of a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) and why it is the gold standard in frailty
  • explain mobility and delirium and cognitive changes in the mind
  • demonstrate an understanding of falls, continence, hydration and nutrition, alcohol and substance misuse in relation to frailty
