Building on foundations - caring for stroke survivors
This module introduces what a stroke is, what difficulties can arise because of stroke and what management strategies and support can be offered to the stroke survivor.
This session consists of 5 videos covering the topics of:
- communication
- creating a therapeutic environment
- fluid and dietary modifications
- supporting eating and drinking
- mouthcare
Each video provides an insight into management for a specific difficulty and gives detail on the therapy staff that would be working with the stroke survivor to support their recovery. This session provides a holistic overview and is intended for trained healthcare professionals who may be caring for someone who has had a stroke.
