Taught at our Orange campus, the Bachelor of Pharmacy from Charles Sturt University will prepare you to make a difference in a well-established healthcare profession with expanding career prospects for the future.
Pharmacists play a vital role in people's health. Besides dispensing medication, you'll work with the community, providing advice and advocacy to people of all ages and backgrounds. Pharmacists are active in all areas of medication management and health promotion.
If you want to work for NSW Health after graduating, then you could be eligible for a Tertiary Health Study Subsidy. They help cover university fees, technology and travel expenses or other associated personal costs that pop up as you study. If successful, you could be one of 12,000 students supported with up to $12,000 when you work with NSW Health after graduating.

A bachelor's degree in pharmacy will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to work in rural, regional and metropolitan healthcare settings.
Comprehensive instructionStudies in chemistry and biology come together in this course, along with practical instruction in community and hospital pharmacy, dispensing, medication management and health counselling. You'll learn the soft skills that allow pharmacists to work effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds, including communication and interpersonal skills, time management, decision-making and problem-solving. You may also participate in specialist areas of study, such as rural health, vaccination training and international programs.

This degree will equip you with the skills to improve community health, especially through safe and effective medication use. When you graduate, you'll be ready to make your mark in a wide range of careers, including:

- Roles in aged care with general practitioners
For each 8-point subject you are enrolled in, you should expect to spend 10 to 12 hours per week working on assignments and assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, and attending lectures, intensive schools, or examinations. If you are studying four subjects per session, this is equivalent to a full-time job. The workload for some subjects may vary as a result of approved course design.
