Analgesics used for the management of dental pain course for Dental Practitioners
This session describes the basic management of dental pain and the use of appropriate analgesics.
Learning objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- describe the management of dental pain
- select the most appropriate analgesics for dental pain
Pain due to dental disease in one form or another is a very common complaint. While it may be obvious that treating the cause is the most important consideration, this is often not immediately possible and the practitioner therefore needs to know how to help the patient manage the pain until definitive treatment is available.
