Session Overview
Description
The aim of this session is to put your theoretical knowledge to practical use, by working through a series of scenarios relating to fluid management in children.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Manage the fluid status of a child presenting for emergency surgery
  • Manage dehydration in a child
  • Correct acute hyponatraemia

Prerequisites
Before commencing this session you should complete the following:

  • Module 04b/Principles of Paediatrics Anaesthesia/Calculations, Corrections and Maintenance - Part 1(001-0446)
  • Module 04b/Principles of Paediatrics Anaesthesia/Calculations, Corrections and Maintenance - Part 2 (001-0447
  • Module 04b/Principles of Paediatrics Anaesthesia/Maintenance Fluids in the Perioperative Period (001-0448)
